After the recession peak is now over, prices of the car insurance premiums are still the most important considerations people make before they purchase a policy for their vehicles. During the highest point of recession, prices were the most important factors but the degree is now lower.

The senior director of the finance company said that recessionary phase of the economy saw people getting more rigid towards high priced insurance premiums. This shopping trend for car insurance policies went up again during the third quarter of year 2009. This rate was similar to the rate that prevailed before the recession in the economy. This trend again moved up a little in the later months of 2009.
The senior director also differentiated between various generations as the customers of the car insurance premiums. He called persons born between year 1977 and year 1992 as generation Y. He suggested that this generation makes up for the major chunk of first timers who are buying car insurances. They tend to go online and gather knowledge about car insurance supermarket before going for the purchase.
The research also suggests that the car insurance companies must understand different needs of the generation Y and serve them with appropriate insurance products. Generation Y insurance needs are more complex but cannot be ignored as they form together than 70 million of the population. With advent of hi-technology media into our daily lives, these generation Y people have numerous ways to look for correct information such as many social networking websites.
