Car insurance and fuel rates on hike

Annual cost of running a car has increased by 9% in last five years, disclosed a recent survey. Increase in price of petrol as well as car insurance has pushed the average cost of getting behind the wheels by around £2,338 in the month of October to £2,539 this year as revealed by the statistics by Sainsbury’s Finance.

Tax has increased 3.4% in five months and 26% since 2007 September. Cost of servicing the car has also gone up least as compared to other things that is 1%.

According to Spokesperson of Sainsbury car insurance, cost of driving a vehicle has soared as all the costs but insurance prices and fuel prices in particular continue to rise. He also added saying that after new higher level of the vehicle excise duty taxes was introduced on April 1, it is beneficial to shop around.
