The Royal Mail national postal strike is going to be disruption for the UK drivers but if you are one of them, you need to know that you cannot make this to be excuse for driving without the car insurance. Defaulters will not be excused. There are certain things that you can keep in mind to keep yourself covered before you get to the road. Insurance advice has been given to the drivers by the ABI or the Association of British Insurers so that the customers can remain insured. This news is important for people who have to renew their car insurance in the coming few days.

You can contact your car insurance provider if your insurance is due for renewal. If it is, the insurer will provide you with a notification almost 21 days prior to the date of renewal of the policy. If you have not got the details and notifications from the providers as yet, make it a point to contact them so that they can send you all the matter by some other means like fax and email. The drivers cannot just afford to roam around without car insurance policy even when the strike is going on.

The insurers are also doing their bit to make sure that the customers do not have to face any problems due to the strike. You can get new car insurance policy from the car insurance supermarket. If you want, the companies can make available the short term policies as well. The companies will be using email and fax to contact you and send you the details if your insurance policy is due for renewal. You will be supposed to pay using credit and debit cards as postal transactions will not be possible and checks cannot be sent. Another way the companies will be using is the bank transfer. All they want to do is to make sure that you do not have to face any inconvenience.
